Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic Principal / Studio Lead to spearhead our business expansion into Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Reporting to a Director, this pivotal role involves entering a new market in line with our growth strategy, forging new relationships, and enhancing existing ones. You will be responsible for securing and managing a pipeline of work, ensuring the successful delivery of commercial outcomes. Additionally, you will oversee project and team management, ensuring adherence to timelines and excellence in execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects from concept to completion as part of a Project Team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement innovative and sustainable design solutions that set industry benchmarks.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed design documentation and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success, fostering strong professional relationships.
  • Manage the administration of projects, including effective completion of timesheets and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope, taking full fiscal and budgetary responsibility.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and mentorship to team members.
  • Manage and lead a team across all facets of the Employee Lifecycle and its associated people and culture activities and workflows.
  • Project a positive image of Arcadia and uphold its reputation through all areas of work, demonstrating leadership and professionalism.

 

About You

This role is suited to someone with:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
  • Superior design and documentation skills.
  • Advanced Proficiency in design software such as MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to instil trust in others, lead and work collaboratively in a team and project focused environment with decision quality.
  • Exceptional Project management and organisational skills.
  • Ensuring accountability and managing complexity at times.
  • A passion for sustainability and innovative design.
  • An entrepreneurial and growth mindset.
