Park(ing) Day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places.
Auckland 2017 was once again a success. We had a beautiful day all round with 4 firms setting up around town to be a part of Park(ing) Day this year.
In Auckland, Beca, Woods Urban Designers and Architects and Harrison Grierson could be found around town and in Newmarket, whilst Shafer Design set up in Orewa outside their office.
Numat continued to be our Astroturf supplier this year supplying additional teams with Astroturf.
Shafer Design were supported by Blackbridge Nursery who loaned, delivered and collected the large grade trees they used on the day.
Beca had their vegetation supplied by Lush n’ Leafy Landscapes and were supported by Beca as they set up outside Revelry café on Karangahape Road.
The team of Woods Urban Designers and Architects put together a mini golf parklet installation with sponsorship from Woods, Eco Lawn (Artificial Grass & Turf) and Resene (paint).
Harrison Grierson worked in partnership with The Plant People, who kindly supplied plants and some other elements for the day.
An unexpected and welcome appearance from Canopius Coffee House in Papakura and also Panuku Development Auckland in Henderson.
