Recently hardy Wellington Branch members helped the Greater Wellington Regional Council plant native seedlings at Queen Elizabeth Park near Paekakariki on the Kāpiti Coast. It was part of a public ‘Spade Day’ planting and has become an annual event to get hands dirty and contribute to the environment.
We also planted a tōtara in memory of landscape architect, Jim Beard who passed away last year, beside the tōtara group that was initially planted in 2012 and now about 3 metres tall which are in the background.
