Matapihi is the mountain that speaks to my heart.
Pouawhariki is the river that alleviates my worries.
My name is Angela
I am from Nelson
Greetings/hello to everyone

Matapihi and Pouawhariki is a special place in the Marlborough Sounds for me, a place where I grew and learnt respect for the land, water and people – these places have shaped me into the person I am today.
I feel very grateful to have been offered the opportunity of Chief Operating Officer at Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects. My previous work experience extends from the tourism industry working for Nelson Tasman Tourism, Ngai Tahu Tourism, and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of New Zealand (AOPA NZ) and more recently from the Health Sector with Te Kāhui Mātai Arotamariki o Aotearoa The Paediatric Society of New Zealand.
The first 10 days has been learning all about Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects and settling into the role, I’m positive and committed about what lies ahead. The transition has been made significantly easier by the availability of the NZILA Executive Team, and Vicki’s wonderful handover.
I want to acknowledge the work that Vicki Clague and her team (Loreen and Nerys) have undertaken over their tenure. Their professionalism and dedication have placed NZILA in a wonderful position for the next stage. I look forward to being an enabler for the landscape architecture sector and seeking out new opportunities for the Institute.
We have a notable change coming soon with the election of the new Board, the onboarding of our new team, and the transition to a new operating model. The team and I will be working hard to make this transition as smooth as possible, and we appreciate your patience as we ‘find our feet’ over the next few months.
That said, I look forward to connecting with you over the coming months and introducing the new team, as we continue to understand how we can add value to Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects.
And when the work is done, you’ll find me adventuring with my family on mountain bikes, in tramping boots, holding paddles and poles exploring our beautiful country Aotearoa New Zealand.
Ngā mihi nui | Regards
Angela
